Anamã

Brazil

The Anamã Social Business seeks to combat the proliferation of plastics in the oceans and to protect marine life through the manufacture of sustainable social technologies, such as the making and installation of eco-barriers on rivers and urban canals. Thus, much of the local waste is retained before it reaches the oceans. In addition, the project aims to train young people and adults in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability who are part of local coastal communities, so that they are the producers of the technologies and can earn income from them. In this way, it operates at the Anamã Plastic Processing Center to encourage circular material savings.
